Dr Pascal Rey

Président Directeur Général / CEO

at INSUCO

Pascal Rey is an associate researcher at IFSRA and an internationally recognized expert working at the intersection of scientific research and the mining sector. Holding a PhD in Geography and Spatial Planning, and trained as an agricultural economist, he has dedicated a significant part of his career to studying land dynamics, natural resource governance, and local development across Africa, Latin America, and Asia.

At the core of his approach is the analysis of the complex interactions between large-scale industrial projects and local communities. As the CEO of Insuco Group—an international social sciences consultancy operating in nearly 100 countries—Pascal Rey has successfully translated the rigor of academic research into pragmatic solutions for the extractive industry. He regularly advises international financial institutions, governments, and mining companies on assessing the social impact of projects and designing corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategies based on territorial approaches.

The author of numerous landmark publications and a regular senior lecturer at various universities (including AgroParisTech, Mines Paris - PSL, Sorbonne University, University of Djibouti…), he leverages his expertise to promote a modern and responsible vision of the mining industry. His research aims to transform resource exploitation into a genuine driver of sustainable, inclusive, and collaborative development for host territories.
