Chimaobi Kenechukwu Omeye is the Regional Coordinator for West and Central Africa at the Africa Minigrid Developers Association (AMDA), where he leads multi-country programmes advancing distributed renewable energy markets and expanding energy access across the region. He brings almost a decade of experience at the intersection of policy, finance, and private sector development, working with governments, developers, and development partners to strengthen market frameworks and accelerate clean energy deployment through minigrid. Prior to AMDA, he held a role at ENGIE Energy Access, supporting the development, financing, and delivery of multiple minigrid projects, including leading investment readiness and Results Based Financing applications across large-scale portfolios. His work spans policy and regulatory support, project development, stakeholder engagement, and programme coordination across multiple African markets, making him a strong voice in driving scalable solutions for rural electrification and inclusive energy access.
